| Our goal for this year is to bring the much needed operations that have to take place in Watamu to be held in a 21st Century environment and not in a leaking cold and unsterile environment.
We want to be able to provide a new roof on the SDA Medical Centre in Watamu, costing, about £2,800. We have already patched up the leaks but it needs to be done properly and we cannot afford the cost. This is massively important as we want the people we help to be healthy and mobile so they in turn can help others and obviously with a compromised medical facility this may not be possible
One of the by-products of providing building work in the area is employment for local tradesmen and it provides their families with money to live on and have hope for the future.
In the UK we don't want to wait more than 24 hours for a doctor's appointment,
in Watamu the locals are so grateful for treatment they don't see the holes or the potential problems they can deliver to them.
We would also like to be able to provide Dr Katana's Maternity Clinic an incubator and a sterilizer, costing about £2,500 each.
And also a project with a smaller target is to finance a Doctor,
Nurse and Technician to visit outlying villages in the bush, once or twice a month,
to inoculate the children and help the general population with their health worries. This costs £75 per month
So our only question now is can you help Paperchase reach our target of-
£2,800 for a new roof |
